The idea

CAI-Vax is an independent project exploring how computational tools can help compare candidate designs for personalized mRNA cancer vaccines. The current workflow focuses on evaluating cancer-associated antigen sequences, comparing design options, and organizing candidates for later experimental testing.

Working with a team

I started CAI-Vax as an independent project and then brought together three other students from my district to help push it forward. Rather than giving everyone the same task, we divided the work across literature review, sequence analysis, computational design, and experimental planning.

That means deciding what can be parallelized, what needs one person to own it, and where everyone needs to understand the same underlying biology before moving on.

Candidate screening

At a high level: the workflow compares sequence- and design-level properties relevant to selecting promising vaccine candidates, and prioritizes options for later validation.

Experimental validation

Experimental validation is being designed and planned. Results will be added when they are ready to be shared publicly.
