When Sympify Took Us to Harvard
Harvard Youth in Public Health Symposium
An invitation that arrived because of Sympify's public-health work — and turned into a five-student team, a dataset on niacin and blood pressure, and a presentation that won partly by refusing to overclaim.
How the invitation happened
Our invitation to the Harvard Youth in Public Health Symposium grew out of Sympify’s work and commitment to public health.
At the symposium
At the symposium, I represented Diamond Bar High School and led a five-student team analyzing the relationship between niacin and systolic blood pressure. We presented our findings with an emphasis on responsible interpretation and ultimately delivered a winning presentation.
The experience gave me a chance to step outside Sympify’s usual work and think about public health from a different angle.
